  • Plastic Surgery Not Just for Breasts

When most people think about plastic surgery, they usually picture common procedures like breast augmentation, tummy tucks, or face lifts.  Most don’t realize that some types of dental care can also be considered plastic, or cosmetic, surgery.  Dental crowns are one example.  They enhance the appearance of people’s smiles by removing gaps created by pulled or lost teeth.  The right set of crowns can transform a smile from toothless to tempting in just a few…

Book Your Hotel

Most cities that cater to medical tourists will also have a wide selection of budget, mid-range, and luxury hotels from which to choose.  In the Destinations Section, you will find individual country listings, each of which provides a very general description of the various types of accommodations you can expect in each medical tourism city.  Using Kayak.com, you can find hotels and resorts in close proximity to the hospitals and dental clinics you've contacted for treatments.  We're partial to Kayak.com, but we encourage you to use the Internet liberally in order to find a hotel that suits your particular needs.  Alternatively, you can contact your hospital or dental clinic directly to ask for recommendations.  In some cases, it will have special deals or partnerships with area hotels.  In addition, many medical facilities provide luxury accommodations on-site; not only for in-patients, but also for family members and friends as well.

Flexibility Is Key

Try to remain flexible with hotel reservations since you might need to stay shorter or longer than expected.  Many medical tourists who come to Bangkok, Thailand, for example, end up flying down to the islands and canceling their hotel reservations in the city.  If you go with a reputable hotel, making minor adjustments to your reservations shouldn't be terribly difficult.  Potential disputes are easiest to resolve if you have a credit card company involved with the transaction.  That is to say, go with hotels that accept MasterCard, Visa, and Amex over those that require wire transfers.
